Dr. Umar, Yandy Smith and Mendeecee have revealed that they have obtained citizenship in Ghana
On Monday, January 6, Dr. Umar took to Instagram to share a photo and a long message with his followers. The image also featured a figure dressed in traditional clothing, with text that read in part: "... CITIZEN OF GHANA 1.6.25"
In the caption of his post, Dr. Umar shared his excitement and gratitude.
"... Although I am by no means an African diaspora who has received citizenship in the mother continent, I will be very well in the 21st century. The most prominent pan-Africanist of the 20th century. The Prince of Pan-Africanism to grant African legal citizenship completely and forever changes the narrative and direction of the global movement in Pan-Africanism, and will reinvigorate African consciousness throughout the world," he wrote in part.

Mendeecees then took to the platform to share a joint position with Yandy Smith. The post also featured a photo of them smiling in traditional clothing.
"Today we are officially from Ghana 🇬🇭 I am not African because I was born in Africa, but because Africa was born in me. 🇬🇭🇬🇭 ~ Kwame Nkrumah," in part they read their combined epigraph.
