Al Roker found the right inspiration to fuel his healthy lifestyle and was happy to share it with the world!

The talk show host emerged as the face of today's fitness platform and took the opportunity to discuss healthy living through various lifestyle adjustments.

Al Roker has battled a series of health crises of late, including hospitalization for internal bleeding and blood clots in 2022 and a diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2020.

The TV veteran jumped on the mic to speak his mind on Monday, January 6, when the show launched its Start Today fitness app.

Roker, who earned the title of Start Today's Chief Motivation Officer, continued that staying healthy "is all about the little choices you make every day that add up to big things."

He noted that one of the areas of concern for those "struggling with weight or any problem is that something happens and you go 'well, I blew it' and then you're off."

Roker continued that doubts and second guesses are part of the process, and that "it's not the end of the world. Now, okay, let's start today and start over."

The veteran revealed that he struggled with his weight for much of his adult life, a change that only happened when his ailing father forced him to focus on his physical health.

"And he said straight up, 'Look, we both know I'm not going to be here to help you raise your kids. You have to be here for your kids.' And that really stuck with me, and that's what led me to get a gastric bypass," he said PEOPLE.

The rocker really went through the valley of death and came out unscathed. In 2022, the television personality battled a life-threatening blood clot and an episode of internal bleeding. It was preceded by a fight against prostate cancer in 2020. Before that, he also underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2002.

Since the gastric bypass, the icon has kept her weight at a relatively balanced threshold, but she understands that "everyone comes to their moment in their own way and in their own time."

Roker recognized that recovery "is a means to an end, but it's not the end. It's not the final thing. I'm working on this every day. You're never quite done, and that's okay because everything (good) in life is worth the effort."

He admitted that his fitness routine depends on his mood during the day. But his typical routine involves waking up early in the morning before Today and going for a 20-25 minute walk on the treadmill. He also gets about 10 minutes of weight training.

Other days, the host noted that he just takes a nice, brisk walk home from work because it fits into his schedule. He claimed that he learned to listen to his body from his beautiful wife, Deborah Roberts.

Roberts not only gave him valuable life and fitness advice, but she was also his rock during one of the lowest points in his life.

In the report of The Blast In 2023, at the premiere of the documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields on the red carpet, she talked about what she went through caring for her husband in the hospital after blood clots in his legs affected his lungs.

The author opened up that being a caregiver is "taxing, exhausting and scary" and that she only realized the difficulties of being a caregiver when she experienced it herself. She hoped she would never have to endure such a turbulent period again. in her words:

"But it's hard. It's difficult. I'm still alone somehow, i think is recovering. I'm still alone somehow tired. I'm still mentally drained, but you know what, I'm grateful and just trying only enjoy the moment and only be happy about it he is good, and we're all good."

The 64-year-old said that her faith in God guided her actions during the difficult period. She noted that her spirituality and the support of her family, friends and colleagues at work strengthened her. This support reminded her that she was not alone and that she remained grateful for her small community.

Roker was grateful for his wife's support, noting that he would not be alive without her selfless act of kindness and maturity in dealing with his complicated illness, which contributed to his recovery process.

His joy soon doubled as his eldest daughter Courtney announced that she was expecting her first child with husband Wesley Lago.

Courtney made the announcement on her Instagram on March 14, 2023 and shared a shot of her dressed in different outfits and striking poses for the camera. A short video appeared with a black and white sonogram image of their unborn baby.

She captioned the snap, "A new adventure is about to begin," as the rocker commented, "Let's go!!! So very very happy!!!!! You guys." Under the same post, he posted his favorite nickname, "Going to pop-pop."

Roberts, Kourtney's stepmom, was also found lurking in the comments section, beaming as ever, writing: "This is so very exciting!!!."

The proud grandfather used his 69th birthday to recall his health journey and praise the newest member of the family.

"This is my 69th anniversary of orbiting the sun, and after everything I went through at the end of last year, I'm more than grateful to be celebrating this birthday," Roker said, as quoted by The Blast.

He thanked everyone for their good wishes, including members of the Start DANAS community and his family for "getting him out of the hospital". The father of three then made a separate post of his adorable granddaughter Sky, along with a special inscription.

His post included two pictures of him holding the baby in his lap and staring at it. Sky looked stunning in a red jumpsuit, white stockings and a matching hair band. "Best #birthdaygift ever," the elated rocker wrote. below the post, earning approval from your friends and fans in the comments section.
