Video of Ice Spice's on-stage review goes viral
A video of the short and chaotic performance quickly went viral, with many questioning the festival's lack of professionalism and time management.
"Being late is just unprofessional, we have a music curfew in the UK so if someone steps on the mic they're just cut off, I've never seen an artist here be late because we just don't allow it," one person said in the comments section.
"Let's respect everyone's time and money," said another.
"I like how she looks like she wants to cry," said a third.

The venue releases a statement
In response to the reaction, Wildlands Festival The organizers published a statement on Instagram in which they reflect on the situation:
"We understand that Ice Spice's delayed arrival has caused some disappointment. Managing a packed festival means we have to be extremely tight with deadlines. We've had a strict 12.30pm curfew and we have to make sure the final act hits the stage on time so everyone can enjoy the New Year's countdown."
“She's disrespectful, so good at Wildlands,” said one user after hearing the response from the venue.
"All venues should do this when artists are late," said another.

The audience speaks
Gold Coast music podcaster and journalist Brenton Larney was in the audience for the short six-minute performance.
"At 11.01pm - they gave her an extra minute... - they cut the microphone and you heard a collective gasp from the crowd," he said. The Guardian. “They waited a while and got two songs? So it was a bit funny and it was really disrespectful how she walked away, laughing that they tried to give her flowers for her birthday and she just shrugged it off."
He noted that Ice Spice seemed subdued and gave the impression that "she doesn't want to be there".
"It was really disrespectful to watch, especially with all the cancellations and stuff we've had in the Australian music scene," he said. “It didn't help.”

Fans respond to Ice Spice's stance
Mia Sims, a 20-year-old dance teacher from the Gold Coast, said she and many others arrived 30 minutes early to secure a good spot in the mosh pit before Ice Spice's scheduled performance. As a result, fans were pressed together for nearly an hour, all for what turned out to be an extremely short set.
"And she came out and played two songs — and they weren't even two of her most popular songs," Sims said. "It looked like a joke, like she didn't really care, and especially, like she didn't post anything on social media or apologize. So I couldn't imagine being one of her biggest fans and for that to happen. I would be pretty devastated”.
