This article contains major spoilers for The Squid Game Season 2.

The first season of Hwang Dong-hyuk's smash hit series "Squid Game" ended with a winner. Player 456, Seong Gi-hoon (Lee Jung-jae), was the last man left, winning 45.6 billion won and changing his life forever. At the end of "Squid Game" season 2, not only did Gi-hoon return to the games, but after seven episodes, the games were still on. The players split into two factions - those who want to keep playing and those who want to go home while they still can - with Gi-hoon leading a rebellion against the guards that unfortunately failed nearly as quickly as it started. This shocking cliffhanger is sure to keep audiences hooked until Season 3 arrives sometime in the summer of 2025, but for those wise enough to stick around after the credits roll, there's an even bigger mystery hanging over the games.

In a post-credits scene that lasted only a few seconds, several players (096, 100 and 353) shyly approach Young-hee, the annoying giant robot girl who controls the game Red Light, Green Light, but she is standing in front of a new map of the game - Sunset. For as sweet and innocent as she may seem, those who have seen The Squid Game know that she is a harbinger of destruction - an angel of death. Could this be another branch of the games in another country, like the upcoming Netflix spin-off series is being produced by David Fincher? However, the players and Young-hee are not alone. In this clip there is another giant robot doll, but this one looks like a young boy wearing a striped polo and a small hat. He is placed opposite Young-hee, and a stop light flashes from red to green before the footage fades to black.

Luckily, Hwang Dong-hyuk explained what's going on with this mysterious new doll and what fans can expect in season 3.

Both dolls seem to have sensors in their eyes, and we at /Film have already theorized that this could be to combat players hiding their movement behind the players in front of them out of Young-hee's view, or that it could be a look at a previous replay of the game from previous years. However, in conversation with Entertainment WeeklyHwang Dong-hyuk explained that the doll's name is Cheol-soo and that the post-credits scene is a teaser not only for the third season, but also for a brand new game. As he explained:

"It's actually (an amazing glimpse) of Cheol-soo, who, like Young-hee, is a new giant doll that we'll be showing in season three, and it's also a hint of the most exciting game in season three as Pa taka, though still not shared, I hope everyone will be excited to meet Cheol-soo and the new game.

The addition of Cheol-su, the game's new map, and the visuals of a flashing red light and a green train light, as opposed to Young-hee announcing the change and turning her head, imply that either this is a very different version of the game than the audience is used to seeing him or it's a whole other game. One prevailing theory is that Young-hee and Cheol-soo together point to playing the "Jack and Jill Game", noting that Cheol-soo and Young-hee are also the names of two children featured in the illustrations of school books in Koreawith the western counterparts being "Jack and Jill".

To play the Jack and Jill game, players start at the bottom of the hill and roll colored dice to climb to the top, based on the color of the dice. With each roll, players also spin a wheel. If it points to a well, they stay in place. If it points to a bucket, the player returns to the bottom of the hill. The first person to reach the top and spin a wheel pointing to a well wins.

We'll have to wait until the third season of The Squidward Game arrives sometime this summer to find out if the showrunners will be tackling Jack and Jill or something else.
