Jonathan Bennett will return to host this year's New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, which will be available for live webcast.
The event promises an exciting lineup of musical acts including Carrie Underwoodthe The Jonas BrothersTLC, Rita Oraand more. Additionally, Mickey Guyton will deliver a special version of John Lennon's "Imagine" just before the iconic midnight drop.

Jonathan Bennett reveals that confetti is people's wishes
In an interview with People Magazineactor revealed his favorite aspect of New Year's celebrations in New York - a surprise treat about the iconic confetti.
"Every New Year's Eve, when that confetti is showered on all the revelers, it's actually people's wishes," Bennett revealed. "You're standing there and being showered with New Year's wishes from so many people. There's something really special about that, and that's what I love so much about New Year's Eve in Times Square."
The Hallmark actor then told the publication that "the new year is a symbol of a new beginning" and that the confetti is "a symbol, literally a physical symbol, of everyone's wishes for the new year."

"I think we always have wishes of hope, we have wishes for better days ahead, a better life, there are so many wishes that people have for the new year," he said. "So having them just shower over you is so special."

Bennett also explained that the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, the organizations behind the legendary ball drop, play a key role in ensuring that every wish finds its place on a piece of confetti. These wishes are collected either from the "Wish Wall" in Times Square or through submissions on the event's official website.
"They're so determined to use real wishes and make sure that every wish that's in that box comes out," the actor added.

Bennett said one of the wishes "almost blew away"
Reflecting on an unforgettable moment with Countdown Entertainment president Jeffrey A. Straus, Bennett shared an instance "when one of the wishes almost blew." He recalled saying, "I thought, 'Oh, we almost lost that,' and Jeff immediately replied, 'Put it back in the box.'" Bennett continued, "I looked at him, and he said, 'That's somebody's desire'."
The actor added how important that is to people, "so if you write your wish down, it will come out. I think that's what makes Times Square and New Year's Eve special."
