Nikki Garcia enters the new year with a new perspective and focus on self-growth.
On the Dec. 30 episode of "The Nikki & Brie Show" podcast, Garcia took to the microphone solo to candidly share the lessons she's learned throughout 2024. The former WWE star and reality TV personality opened up about her personal journey, offering insights that seemed to allude to her recent divorce from Artem Chigvintsevwhich followed his domestic violence arrest in August.
During her podcast session, Nikki Garcia addressed the emotional consequences of trying to "fix" others in relationships and encouraged listeners to recognize these patterns early and understand the importance of setting boundaries before these behaviors become deep-rooted problems.

Nikki talks about her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev
One topic she mentioned exploring was the "divine feminine," which helped her embrace the idea that she didn't have to "fix, change, or improve others."
"We're not here to fix other people, we just aren't," the "Total Bellas" alum explained. "We are here to be an example. We are here to teach our children, nurture our children, teach others ā leading by example ā but we are not here to fix. And it took me 41 years to realize that, and I'll definitely take that into my 2025 year.ā
"You can be there to support, but you're not there to fix, especially in the relationships you have," she added.

Chigvintsev was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence Aug. 29 in Napa County, but the district attorney ultimately decided not to file criminal charges. September 11 Garcia filed for divorceseeking sole legal and physical custody of her child, with custodial visitation rights to the Chigvintsevs. In addition, she asked the court to terminate spousal support for both parties.
As she reflected on the energy she spent trying to fix others, she encouraged listeners to recognize this behavior early, before it turned into a problem.

"If you're in a relationship that you're fixing, you have to find a way out," she said on her podcast. āBecause trying to fix someone will not bring love, happiness and change. Honestly, you'll end up draining yourself and causing grief. And so it hit me hard, because I'm definitely in that space now, and this new era of mine in 2025 isn't getting any better. I will lead. I will help. I will support. I will love, but I will not fix.ā
She later said, "God will come and help them go that way."

Artem Chigvintsev responds to Nikki's submission
Chigvintsev responded to Garcia's filing by requesting joint custody, spousal support from his estranged wife and coverage of his attorney's fees. Although the details of the settlement remain unclear, a representative for the reality star said at the time.
"Nikki's priority has always been her son and her privacy on that matter," her rep said in November. "She is grateful for all the love and support she has received during this difficult time."

"I disconnected from social media, from the world, and I just knew that I had to end the relationship because first, I'm a mom and the protection and privacy of my son is the most important thing. So I did everything necessary for that to be the most important thing, and then just needed space to heal, to deal with trauma, all of that," she said, referring to her four-year-old son Matteo, with whom she shares Chigvintsev.
"It's been really hard. I'm heartbroken. Sad. You know, you dream of having this family and you have this incredible love and it just goes the other way," she continued. "And you go from a great love story to a terrible one. And I never saw any of that happening, you know, as far as, like, what the ending would be."

Nikki Garcia finalizes divorce
The retired WME star officially finalized her divorce from the "Dancing with the Stars" pro last month through private mediation. According to a statement from a representative in November, the couple, who share their four-year-old son Matteo, agreed "to drop the domestic violence restraining order against each other in an attempt to move on with their lives and effectively co-parent their son."
As she looks ahead to 2025, Nikki Garcia seems determined to put her well-being first and continue to share her wisdom with fans.
