We've yet to roll off the mat for the last time with Cobra Kai and we've already been given our first look at the upcoming continuation of the Karate Kid universe with The Karate Kid: Legends Trailer.. The new film, set for release in 2025, will also see original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) team up with Jackie Chan's Mister Han from the 2010 film for the first time. Together, they'll wax and dish out some words of wisdom to brand new martial arts prodigy Li Fong (newcomer Ben Wang). But with the new karate kid, does anything we've seen so far foreshadow the eagerly awaited Cobra Kai finale and Danny's strained relationship with his wily nemesis Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka)?

While it may not be a surprise that the original Karate Kid will appear in Legends, it at least confirms that he made it out of Cobra Kai alive. It could have been something incredible a year ago if it wasn't for Kwon's shocking death in Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode 2 suggesting that between now and its end, one is in danger of being killed. But maybe what we should be focusing on isn't who makes it from a beloved show to an upcoming movie, when it could be the other way around.

What we know so far about The Karate Kid: Legends is that former friends of Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), Han and LaRusso are working together, but could this alliance begin with the former visiting the latter in the end of "Cobra Kai?" Like Nick Fury from The Karate Kid universe, there's a chance that Jackie Chan's character, who hasn't been seen in 14 years, will walk into the LaRusso family to ask for a favor. (even if Macchio himself doubted the cameo would work). Maybe even the next karate kid (no, not Hilary Swank) could directly ask for advice. For Cobra Kai fans who were hesitant about the next chapter, it's sure to give them enough of a tease to get them excited and smoothly shift the focus away from the people of All Valleys and their love of karate.

Then again there is no confirmation in the review how things ended for LaRusso and his class. After all, they might not leave the Sekai Taikai victorious, which could give Danny the incentive to train another karateka with the same hunger to be the best around. For now, we'll have to wait and see when "Cobra Kai" makes its final start on Netflix on February 13, and "The Karate Kid: Legends" hits theaters on May 30.
