On Friday, December 27, the Oscar-winning actor announced the launch of his new weekly newsletter, "Lyrics of Livin'." Described as "a collection of thought-provoking notes, advice, truths, and inspirations collected over decades of life," the newsletter promises readers insight into McConaughey's thoughts on life, growth, and personal philosophy.

In addition to the written content, Matthew McConaughey will personally narrate each release, offering an audio version for fans who prefer to hear his signature impart of wisdom.

Set to launch on Friday, January 3rd, "Lyrics of Livin'" will deliver new installments to subscribers' inboxes every Friday - for free.

"I've kept and chronicled the good times, the bad times, the blackouts and the ons and offs for over four decades, and as you may know, many of those journal entries were what inspired my book Greenlights," McConaughey, who published his best-selling memoirs in 2020.

"Which got me thinking, what if I didn't wait another 40 years to share my thoughts, recipes, tips, truths and inspirations: things I've seen, said, stolen and heard along the way that can help us find more Greenlights in our life and a little rhyme in our sanity," continued the actor.

For those wondering what to expect with this new project, McConaughey explained, "Think of it as five minutes with McConaughey as you wrap up your week and head into your weekend. You can read it yourself or listen to me read it to you. It's yours if you want, easy."

McConaughey explained that he decided to publish the weekly newsletter on Friday afternoons because, for him, Friday has "always been my favorite day of the week".

"A real day to negotiate, the first half of Friday is about responsibility and WORK and the second half is about freedom and PLAY - and Friday also comes with a 48-hour runway - before we go back to Monday," he said.

This won't be the first time the actor has broken down his walls and let fans see another side of him.

"This is a book, based on the adventures of my life. Adventures that were meaningful, enlightening and funny, sometimes because they were meant to be, but mostly because they didn't try to be."

One of the biggest stories from his memoir is when he opened up about the first time he had sex.

"The first time I was blackmailed into having sex was when I was fifteen. I was sure I was going to hell for having premarital sex. Today, I'm just sure I hope that's not the case," he said in the book. "A man molested me when I was eighteen years old while I passed out in the back of a van."

Neither story is renewed or expanded elsewhere in the book. However, near the end of his reflections, Matthew McConaughey strikes a poignant note, saying, "I've never felt like a victim."

Matthew McConaughey recently joined tennis star Nick Kyrgios for a preview episode of the athlete's upcoming podcast, Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios, which aired today, Wednesday, November 20.

"Look, man, the devil is in the infinite yes and no no," McConaughey said, per People Magazine. "No, it's just as important, if not more important. Especially if you have a certain level of success and access. It doesn't get more important than yes."

"I mean, we all look around and see that we've overdone our lives and say, 'God, oh man, I'm making C minuses and all that crap in my life because I said yes to too many things,'" he continued. "I had a lot times in my life when I was going through autopilot."
