Mary has starred in the TLC series since its 2010 premiere alongside her ex-husband Cody Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown And Robin Brown. Although Mary has become a pro in front of the camera over the past 19 seasons, she admits that the first day of filming took her by surprise.
"Just thinking about that first scene when I was introduced, I didn't expect the cameras to be there," he recalls. “I didn't know they were there. I would have been a little more prepared."
After more than 30 years of marriage, Cody and Mary Brown worked their way through several major rough patches before confirming their separation in 2023. When the show started, Mary, Janelle, 55, Christine, 52, were All are married to Cody55, and he was in the process of marrying Robin in 2014. While the Brown family is open about their lives on screen, there are things Mary doesn't like to air on the show.
"I don't like talking or listening to other people about intimacy, PDA and finances," she said our. "I think money is not a necessary conversation."
As to who takes the longest to get ready, Mary admits it's a toss up between her or Robin.
"I always take an hour and a half to get ready," she admits. "Sometimes I've done it at 45, but that's only when I'm at home."
Although Cody remains married to Robyn to this day, Jenelle, Kristin and Mary, (aka, the ex-wives club), remain close as they continue to live as a family. Mary shared that her favorite family gatherings over the years had to be Thanksgiving their children was present Mary and Cody have a son, Leon, 29.
