Justin Baldoni apologizes for “shortcomings” in re-release video

The re-video features the director of "It Ends With Us". Justin Baldoni apologizing to his wife as he recited his vows to her at their wedding.

Before the video resurfaced, an interview from 2021 resurfaced, showing Baldoni admitting his past addiction to pornography.

It was the trailer for the wedding of Baldoni and his wife Emily posted on YouTube Nov 13, 2013 However, the video has gained prominence again amid Blake Lively's lawsuit against her "It Ends With Us" co-star.

Part of the re-recording shows Baldoni making his vows to Emily. He began by apologizing, saying per Page Six"I want to start my vows to you by apologizing. I'm sorry for all my mistakes, my shortcomings, my insecurities and my ego and everything I've ever done or said that hurt you. And everything I've ever done has led to this relationship that wasn't was clean."

Baldoni added: "But with that apology comes a promise. Emily, for the rest of my life I will cherish you, I will cherish you, I will listen to you, I will laugh with you, I will take care of you, I will respect you and I will respect you."

Emily responds to Justin Baldoni's vows

As she said her vows, Emily decided to "stand strong" for her husband because she was grateful to have a man like him "who will go above and beyond to comfort a friend or just make someone feel loved."

She vowed to stand firmly by Baldoni's side before adding that she was "deeply grateful to have a man who inspires me and those around him to live life more fully."

After they exchanged vows, Baldoni said, "Let's jump together forever," after which they high-fived each other.

The resurfaced video of Baldoni's apology at the wedding follows an old interview with him that resurfaced following Lively's legal appeal.

In July 2021, Baldoni was a guest on Sara Grynberg's show "A life of greatness" podcast and shared candid details about his past addiction to pornography. The director revealed that he was introduced to pornography at the age of 10 before adding that he found solace in it.

He shared that he turned to pornography for "refuge" when he was alone, abandoned or hurt and described it as a source of "dopamine rush".

Baldoni also said, "I've trained my brain to deal with pain with a dopamine hit... But that doesn't mean I'm not using something in an unhealthy way."

He revealed how he reverted to looking at pictures and videos of naked women at times when he felt necessarily bad about himself. Baldoni added: "I knew it was a problem for me when I told myself I didn't want to do it."

Lively claimed to Baldoni engaged in sexual misconduct during filming, which is why she called a meeting to express her concerns. She claimed that she made several demands at the meeting, which Baldoni and his production company agreed to.

Some of the 37-year-old actress' demands included: "No more showing of nude videos or pictures of women, no more mention of Baldoni's alleged past addiction to pornography and no more discussion of sexual conquests in front of her and others."

Lively also claimed that Baldoni and his team led a smear campaign against her after the meeting. However, she hoped her lawsuit would help expose sinister retaliatory tactics aimed at harming people and help protect others who may be targeted.

Baldoni responded to Lively's lawsuit via a statement from his lawyer, Bryan Freedman, who labeled the actress' claims as "false, outrageous and intentionally malicious, with the intent to publicly injure her." Freedman also claimed that Lively filed the lawsuit to "repair her negative reputation."

Justin Baldoni dated Emily, a Swedish actress, for two years before they tied the knot in July 2013 in Corona, California. The couple has two children: a daughter named Maiya and a son named Maxwell.

Baldoni's Instagram page is full of posts celebrating his and Emily's love and good times. On September 15, he divided some photos from their family vacation at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. One picture showed Baldoni and Emily smiling as they posed for a selfie while submerged in water.

On August 5, Baldoni paid tribute to his wife on her 40th birthday. He wrote"I am in awe of this woman. Her strength. Her courage. Her groundedness. Her magic. Her love."

He concluded, "Magic follows you wherever you go. I am grateful to have joined and learned from you on this journey."
