There was a time when the mention of "McLovin'" had people assuming McDonald's had a promotional event happening on Valentine's Day. However, after 2007, thanks to Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and one of the best comedies ever madeSuperbad made it perfectly reasonable to have that name on your driver's license. She also got up quintessential high school movieso much so that, years later, people still ask its stars if we'll ever get a sequel. Well, one of the loudest mouths in the movie and the most cursed actor on film, Jonah Hillhas a plan so ridiculous it just might work.

In a 2022 interview with In a magazineHill said he would absolutely be blown away by the return to the world of Seth (Hill), Evan (Cera) and Vogel aka McLovin (Mintz-Plasse) under one condition: they would all have to be in their 80s. Sure, it might sound like the comedy superstar is messing with the proposal, but Hill admitted that he's actually smitten with the idea and has it all mapped out:

"I have not told this to anyone. What I want to do is when we're 80 years old, we make Superbad 2. Like Superbad in the Old People's Home. Our spouses die and we are single again.

It might be a wild idea, but Hill's co-star was happy to support it when she heard it.

After word got out about Jonah Hill's hilarious concept for a Superbad sequel, Michael Cera has spoken out about his thoughts on the matter, and he's all for it, even if he didn't think anyone else would. "I mean, I'd be open to just doing anything with that group of people," he said Esquire in 2022. "I think everyone is pretty adamantly against it, just because we feel good about the movie." It can only tarnish something that is a good memory,” Cera theorized. "That said, I'd like to do something with the same group of people, even if it's not 'Superbad.'

Elsewhere, Christopher Mintz-Plasse was asked in 2021 if a Superbad sequel would work on 98.1 WOGLand he suggested that swapping the genders of the characters might be the way to go:

"Sometimes if you make a sequel to something, it can diminish the first one."

And that's why we have the likes of Booksmart (starring Hill's sister Beanie Feldstein) and Bottoms. Of course, 2013's apocalyptic comedy This Is The End already served as a Superbad reunion, casting Cera and Hill as exaggerated versions of themselves (we hope). As for Hill's proposed Superbad 2, you'll just have to be sure and check your local theater listings in 2064 to see if it ever comes to fruition.
