Today I rode the Coyote Creek Trail with my recumbent group. I met them in South San Jose and rode back with them. I was a little late getting out so I rode down the Monterey Highway to the trailhead. It's less scenic but more direct, and I have a tailwind, so I fly there at 21 mph. Our return journey was relatively leisurely, with beautiful scenery and weather. We had lunch at Mount Morgan near the southern end of the trail. They continued back to the starting point in South San Jose, where they parked, but I was just getting home from my lunch spot. I call it the horizontal circus because all the tricycles have colorful flags making them more visible and when we rode through it it looked like the circus had come to town. It was a great group, all seniors like me, with various ailments (one was recovering from a recent knee replacement), but that didn't stop any of them as they all rode tricycle and electric assist.
