Jackman's adopted children, Oscar and Ava, feel "guilty" about welcoming his rumored new girlfriend, Sutton Foster, into their family.
It appeared to be an ordeal for the couple, as sources claim they were unsure how best to communicate with Foster.
"It was difficult for the kids because they had to welcome Sutton into their dad's world with their own mixed feelings about it, while at the same time feeling guilty if they got too close," the source said. Women's Day.

Jackman and Furness were married for almost thirty years, during which time they adopted their children. However, they announced their split last September to "continue our individual growth".
the source said Us Weekly that the "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" actor had an "affair" with Foster while he was married to Furness, causing their marriage to fall apart.
"Sutton and Hugh's relationship is why Hugh and Deb divorced," said a source close to Foster.
They added: "A lot of people on Broadway knew and we kept it quiet because they're both such nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and an overlap."

Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin, on October 25. The "Bunheads" alum and Griffin share an adopted daughter, Emily, who is said to have met Jackman and reportedly calls him "Uncle Hugh," per A new idea.

The Marvel star didn't want to 'humiliate' his estranged wife
Jackman has reportedly decided to keep his relationship with Foster out of the spotlight out of respect for his ex-wife.
The insider said OK! Magazine that the "Logan" star has kept things with Foster on the down low because she doesn't want to "humiliate" Furness.
"For so long they hid their relationship from the outside world, sneaked around, lived separately, but the time will come when they will want to come out as a couple," the source claims. "They may start testing the waters soon."
They further noted that "many in the theater world already knew their secret," but the "X-Men" actor "does not want negative publicity" nor does he want to "humiliate" Furness.
"Hugh cares a lot about Deb. She is the mother of his children," the source added.
Deborra-Lee Furness felt 'blindsided' by romance
the source said US Weekly that Foster was "blindsided" when she found out about their relationship, and another source revealed that she was devastated by it.
"It was apparently Broadway's worst-kept secret, and Deborra-Lee was the last one to find out," an industry insider claims, adding that Jackman "hasn't acknowledged" his alleged affair with the "Younger" actress.
"I think a lot of people were shocked (Hugh) that he could do this to her, especially since she's the mother of his children and they've been together for three decades," a friend of the former couple revealed. "A little respect might have been in order."

A Radar Online the source said she is particularly angry with Jackman's friends, Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, for not talking about the rumored romance.
"They kept their lips sealed out of loyalty to Hugh," the insider said. "Despite their long relationship with Deb, they decided to cover it up!"
"Now she's seething with rage because she's the last to know about the secret affair. Deb feels blindsided. She's got a memory like a steel trap and she's not afraid to use it!" the source added. "Debs feels betrayed by all three because someone could have told her what was going on and they all chose to keep their mouths shut."
