Wendy Williams she was seen attending her son's graduation from Florida International University in Miami on Thursday. The 60-year-old former talk show host shares it Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, with ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.
In 2023, Williams was diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, and her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, placed her in a nursing facility. The daytime diva has rarely been seen in public since her diagnosis and reportedly has limited contact with her family.
However, Williams was all smiles as she watched Kevin Jr. graduates from Miami.

Williams rode a motor scooter to the graduation ceremony, but that didn't stop the former talk show host from looking her best, wearing a sequined dress paired with Chanel boots, per PEOPLE.
The adorable scooter also sported a Louis Vuitton cup holder. Williams also wore her signature "W" necklace, as well as other fabulous jewelry.
Also present were Williams' 93-year-old father, Thomas Williams Sr., and her sister, Wanda Finney. According to New York PostKevin Jr. in economics from the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at FIU.

Wendy Williams broke down in tears during the ceremony
The proud mother was seen wiping away tears as she witnessed her only child graduate from college. Kevin Jr. reportedly took a leave of absence from school to care for his mother in 2021 and 2022 as her health struggles became more difficult. Williams has previously shared with the public that she suffered from alcohol abuse and has also been open about her struggles with Graves' disease and lymphedema.
Kevin said in the Lifetime documentary, "Where's Wendy Williams?" that his family was kept away from Williams, and that he worried that her guardian did not have her best interests in mind.
"I feel like the guardian didn't do a good job of protecting my mom," he said.
In November, guardian announced that Williams is "cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incompetent" due to dementia.

In 2019, Williams filed for a divorce from Hunter Sr. after learning he fathered a child with another woman.
Williams had to pay alimony to her ex-husband. However, Morrissey cut him off and filed a lawsuit against him in April seeking to return $112,500 in child support to Williams. The guardian claimed Hunter was "overpaid" because of an automatic payment feature set up on Williams' bank account.

'The Wendy Williams Show' has been canceled in 2022
"The Wendy Williams Show" was cancelled 2022 when Wendy was dealing with her growing health problems. The show ran for 13 seasons while Williams ate celebrity tea from her infamous purple chair.
Williams had hoped to launch a podcast called "The Wendy Experience" as early as August 2022, however, the podcast never materialized. In the Lifetime documentary, Kevin said he felt his mother had the wrong people around her who took advantage of it.
"My mom, she always talks about how she wants to work, but I feel like she's worked enough," he said. "She has people around her who are 'yes people' and who allow this to continue."

Williams was seen shopping with Kevin Jr. in August
Williams and her son were also seen shopping together in New Jersey last August. The duo was photographed at Bolingo Balance, an African bio mineral cell store in Newark. The store is owned by Victor Bowman, son of herbalist Alfred "Dr. Sebi" Bowman.
The store's Instagram account shared a photo with the caption: "I love Wendy Williams and her son so much @topfloor_kev I remember when I met Kevin in Usha Village, my dad told me I want you to meet Wendy's son. At that time, we were the only ones alike years in Usha."
Wendy was said to be "sharp, upbeat and aware" and "very lively" during the visit.
