Singer Shakira has discovered how Chris Martin he supported her amid her split from former soccer star Gerard Piqué.
The "Pretty Liars" singer and the former Barcelona defender were together for 11 years before she announced they were splitting in 2022.
Meanwhile, Chris is in a relationship with actress Dakota Johnson, and was previously married to "Avengers" star Gwyneth Paltrow.

Shakira says Chris Martin was 'there for me'
December 19 Rolling Stone published Shakira's comments in which she described how Martin, with whom she had been friends for a long time, helped her get through a difficult period.
Following her split from Piqué, the Coldplay frontman reached out to her to make sure she was okay. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer shared, "He was there for me when I was separated and heartbroken. He checked in every day, sending me words of support, strength and wisdom."
Shakira also said of Martin: "I see him as a person who looks at life through a different lens, who is sensitive to other people's needs and very empathetic, very empathetic."

Shakira's painful breakup with Gerard Piqué
Despite being together for 11 years, Shakira and Piqué never married. However, they have two sons, Milan (11) and Saša (9). The singer believed that she and the former football star they would be together foreverbut those wishes were dashed in June 2022 when their romance ended.
Shakira was talking Billboard in a September 2023 cover story and shared her disappointment over the split. She said: "My priority was my home, my family. Shakira found solace in friendships
Despite losing her love, Shakira made beautiful friendships. In a conversation in October 2024 with GQ Spainopened up about the pain she endured after her long-term relationship with Piqué ended.
She said per Goal.com"I realized that friendship is longer than love. I didn't know that. Life took my husband but gave me so many friends. I never felt loved, held, like my friends did. I must have done something right in life to have so many people who love me."
The 47-year-old revealed that some of her friendships had been around for two decades, while others were new and she described them as the "reward of a lifetime". She concluded: "When there is so much pain, God squeezes, but allows you to breathe."

Music helped the singer to recover
For many months after the separation from the father of her children, Shakira remained silent and tried to grieve. However, she couldn't do that until she started writing music.
She said of music: "It was my way of healing. And it continues to be. Grief is a process that is not linear. It's full of peaks and valleys."
When asked how she now views love after the breakup, Shakira said: "It's not the same. The love of my partner disappointed me. It affected my idiosyncrasy. It's inevitable, at least at this point, that I've lost trust in the other. The healing process is long. I'll need a few albums.
Chris Martin Relationships
Like Shakira, Martin has endured his fair share of broken relationships. The Coldplay co-founder married Gwyneth Paltrow on December 5, 2003 and welcomed two children with her: daughter Apple, born in 2004, and son Moses, born in 2006.
Martin and Paltrow announced their separation in March 2014, describing it as a "conscious breakup". The actress filed for divorce in April 2015, and it was finalized in July 2016.
Following his divorce from Paltrow, Martin was in a relationship with Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle Wallis from August 2015 to August 2017.

Martin has been dating actress Dakota Johnson since 2017, and reports say they got engaged a few years ago. Lately there have been rumors about it the couple broke upbut seemingly confirmed they were still an item during an interview with Rolling Stonecalling her one of his best friends besides his children.
