1923 actress Daniel Vasinova Legally died for three minutes while battling COVID-19 in December 2019, and she's telling her story.
"I didn't see the light or a tunnel but they say it can come back to you in flashbacks," said Vasinova, 42, who is set to appear in the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff Madisonsaid people In an interview published on Thursday, December 19.

Vasinova thinks she contracted the flu while visiting an urgent care facility in downtown Los Angeles.
“They decided it was strep and sent me home with some antibiotics. But the next day, I could barely walk. My legs won't move. It was weird,” he said.
When Vasinova's uncle took her to the emergency room at 2 a.m., she thought she was "going to die." His heart stopped beating for a full three minutes. An ER nurse tried repeatedly to revive him and finally found a pulse. Vasinova was then placed in an induced coma.
"I had total organ failure," he explained. “I went from being young and healthy to this infection that suddenly completely took over my body. It just came, and it just rocked my world."
Before Yellowstone announced that it was ending with season 5, the cast had a lot to say about its future. Speculation about the show ending in February 2023 began when Deadline reported that the Paramount Network was considering ending the show after season 5 because of Kevin Costner, who plays lead character John Dutton. Surviving a near-death experience makes Vasinova feel "much more connected" to life.
"It's hard to even describe how I feel," she said. "It felt like a turning point in my life. Death, and rebirth. I know how to take nothing for granted. Life is precious and a gift. We are here on earth to do some good, to serve and to be eternally grateful."
Vasinova had the opportunity to directly thank the ER nurse who successfully revived her.
"I found out her name was Ruby, so I went back to the hospital with a bracelet with a little ruby just to say, 'Thank you for saving my life,'" she said. “I didn't know if he would recognize me, but when he opened the door, I started crying and he disappeared. He told me he never knew who lived or died after they moved. He just gave me the biggest hug. Because I'm gone for three minutes. But I'm back."
Yellowstone is known for its over-the-top plot lines and complicated family drama, but the show's cast and crew have also been involved in plenty of offscreen controversies over the years. With the health scare behind her, Vasinova is looking to the future. He took Instagram Tuesday, Dec. 17, to share his excitement about joining the cast Madisonwhich is currently in production and is expected to premiere in 2025.
“Proud to join this amazing cast and truly special project. Thank you very much (Yellowstone co-creator) taylor (Sheridan) for everything and for welcoming me into the @yellowstone family,” he wrote.
Vasinova will play Kestrel, "a Native American woman married to a Montana rancher who lives with her family in a double-wide trailer on their ranch," per diversity.
