A new report claims that Justin Bieber has no plans to dwell on the engagement news and wants Selena Gomez to be "well and happy at the end of the day."

According to Daily MailBieber was "stung for a moment" when he heard that Gomez and her boyfriend Benny Blanco were engaged.

A source close to the pop star said: "Justin is married with a child, we all know that, but when he heard that Selena was engaged, he'll admit, it burned him for a second."

The insider also claimed that the news made Bieber realize that it was "officially the end of an era," even though both he and Gomez have already moved on with their lives.

They added: "His past is so tied up with Selena, and now that she's engaged and he's married and a father, it's a bit of a shock to the system that they're all getting older."

After all, Bieber won't be "stressed out" by the engagement news and hopes Gomez is "well and happy at the end of the day."

He also hopes this will serve as a sign to fans to stop "damaging" the relationship he once shared with the singer.

News of Gomez's engagement to Benny Blanco spread earlier this month after she posted a picture of her sparkling engagement ring on Instagram.

The singer also shared additional photos, including one in which Blanco is seen in a warm embrace kissing her on the side of the head, her face beaming with a smile.

She also shared another snap of herself grinning as she looked at the ring on her finger, which appears to have been taken during a picnic she had with Blanca.

Along with the photo carousel, Gomez added the caption, "Forever begins now," hinting at her excitement to walk down the aisle with Blanca.

Blanco returned the favor in the comments section, writing, "Hey wait... that's my wife."

The couple has yet to announce a wedding date, but it wouldn't be surprising if they set it soon.

A few days after Gomez announced her engagement to Blanca, Bieber posted a loving photo with his wife Hailey on Instagram.

While the image alone wouldn't raise many eyebrows on a typical day, the 30-year-old singer chose to play Lizzy McAlpine's "All My Ghosts" in the background.

When the post went viral, fans speculated that Bieber was subtly contacting his ex-girlfriend, as the song's lyrics reflect on sweet memories with his ex that the songwriter can't shake.

Although Gomez announced her engagement in December, Blanco reportedly proposed in August.
