There is a company called Elevation Lab released an accessory for Apple AirTag this extends battery life up to 10 years and makes it waterproof. The Time Capsule it's essentially a box with an AirTag and two AA batteries. You don't need to open up the AirTag and work with it – you just need to remove its backplate and coin cell battery before putting it in the case. As you can see, this will make your tracking device larger and much heavier, so it is mainly ideal for use with large items such as vehicles and large suitcases.
As Elevation Lab says in its announcement, TimeCapsule can make it easy to manage multiple AirTags. You'll no longer have to replace batteries every year to make sure your items work as intended if you lose them. That said, the batteries you use will dictate how long it will take you to open the case and replace them.
Elevation Lab's Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries are 1.5V each and have a capacity of over 3000mAh, so they can power the AirTag for up to ten years. Other AA batteries will work with the case, but they may not be as effective depending on their features. How much you spend for the entire setup will depend on the batteries you choose, but the box itself will set you back $20.
