YouTuber Nalini Unagar has taken the difficult decision to stop creating content after investing over Rs 8 lakh in her cooking channel, Nalini's Kitchen Recipe, over the past three years. The announcement comes as he revealed that his efforts have not generated any revenue from YouTube.
In a series of posts on X, Nalini detailed her journey and the challenges she faced, and said she now sells kitchen accessories and studio equipment. “I failed in my YouTube career, so I'm selling all my kitchen accessories and studio equipment. If anyone is interested in buying let me know," he wrote.
In a follow-up post, Nalini shared the financial toll of her venture, confessing, "I invested about Rs 8 lakh in my YouTube channel to build a kitchen, buy studio equipment and do promotions. Return? Rs 0."
His candid posts resonated with many users, sparking a viral debate about the difficulties of succeeding in the online content space. Despite cheers from fans urging her to continue, Nalini explained her reasons for leaving. "I dedicated 3 years to YouTube, creating more than 250 videos. However, I didn't get the response I expected, so I finally decided to stop making videos and deleted all my content from the platform", he stated.
Nalini emphasized the unpredictability of online platforms, noting, "Your 'shop' can be closed before you wake up the next day."
The news has mixed sympathy and advice from his followers. One user commented: "I think that's very disappointing. Good luck with what's next. It's perfectly fine to move on if you can't go on anymore." Others suggested that he should leave his videos online, suggesting that algorithms may work in his favor in the future.
This is not the first time Nalini has made headlines. Last year, she engaged in a heated online exchange with actor Swara Bhaskar on vegetarianism and body image issues, highlighting her presence in the public eye.
