Now Rivian cars offer more entertainment options with the adoption of Google Cast in the company's cars. When cars are parked, passengers can stream thousands of apps to the dashboard screen using Google Cast. Cars also get native apps for YouTube and SiriusXM to play media directly from the car's larger screen. Rivian is offering a temporary free trial of SiriusXM to all its customers; after the trial period ends, users must subscribe to continue using satellite radio.

Google announced in the spring it will update Android for cars with casting. Rivian appears to be the first manufacturer to use the technology. The Google updates are the latest collaboration for the company. At Rivian earlier this month opened its charging stations are used by other brands of electric vehicles.
