The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced a strong 17-member squad for the three matches of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Shreyas Iyer will lead the team in the tournament after leading the side to victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25.
What was the highlight of the team was Prithvi Shaw was dropped from the team for the tournament. The opening batsman was earlier sidelined in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy and then returned to the squad for the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but failed miserably in the tournament.

While opening the batting at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, Prithvi Shaw looked awful as the batsman struck for just 197 runs in 9 matches. His fall means that his path back into the team will now be very difficult.
Apart from Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane he will also miss the first three matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 for Mumbai. The batsman, according to reports in the Times of India, has asked for a break due to personal reasons and will join the team late.

Suryakumar Yadav has been included in the Mumbai squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 along with Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur.
Indian National Cricket Team T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has also been included in the Mumbai squad for the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The tournament will be a great opportunity for him to prove his mettle in 50-over cricket, especially with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner.
Suryakumar Yadav, along with Shreyas Iyer, will hold the key for Mumbai in the middle order. The tournament will be a great opportunity for both batsmen to get some time and rhythm ahead of the international season and will therefore be keen to make an impact.
Shivam Dubeyhe also made Mumbai's squad for the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He will be an all-rounder alongside Suryansh Shedge, who was the team's hero in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and helped them win the title with his cameo.
On the bowling front, Mohit Avasthi has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Doc Shardul Thakur is also among Mumbai's 17-member squad for the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
