LG transparent wireless OLED TV available now. The 77-inch OLED T features 4K resolution, LG's wireless transmission technology for video and audio, and the ability to switch between transparent and opaque modes with the push of a button. First unveiled at CES 2024, this futuristic technology will only set you back… oh holy hell, this thing costs $60,000.
Billy Steele of Engadget Checked out the OLED T in January and impressed with its unique presentation. Although some of the transparent visuals can be disturbing - like a miniaturized singer appearing in a room - the fish tank video pictured below was much more enjoyable. He also found the TV's downward-firing speakers sounded surprisingly good.
You can switch between transparent and opaque modes by pressing the button that raises or lowers the contrast screen. When you prefer a fun fish tank look, it rolls into a box underneath. It also includes backlights to accentuate its transparent look.
At the bottom of the TV is a T-Bar, like a timer, from which you can get sports scores, weather, song titles and more. you can use to check. The bar can stay on even when the rest of the TV is off.
The OLED T is powered by LG's Alpha 11 A1 processor, which has four times the performance of the previous generation chip – including 70 percent better graphics performance and 30 percent faster processing speed. The TV maintains a clean profile with LG's Zero Connect Box, which sends video and audio wirelessly to the TV. Connect your streaming boxes and game consoles to it instead of the TV.
If you're Bill Gates ('sup, Bill!), you can drop $60 to order an LG OLED T starting today. Available On the LG website and at select retail partners including Best Buy.
