As Google and the OpenAI continue to expand the video generation space with relevant AI models, The landing stripAnother notable player in the category is moving to expand the scope of these advanced systems. Today, the New York-based company announced a new talent network helps brands, agencies and studios hire AI filmmakers.
Starting today, global creatives, artists and companies specializing in AI video tools—such as Runway—can use the network to showcase their work and connect with talent seekers in the industry. The platform is already home to dozens of independent AI artists specializing in various fields, as well as production houses.
The move is double-edged. First, it acts as a much-needed bridge to help companies looking to accelerate their creative workflows with AI find and hire the right AI video talent for their needs. Second, it allows Runway to accelerate the adoption of its video models in the creative workflows of enterprises. The company itself notes that many members of the talent network are self-employed Creative Partner Programwhere they get exclusive access to new Runway tools and AI models.
Here's what to expect from Runway Talent Network
While AI video creation is a piece of cake today, organizations are well aware that most tools out there are still insufficient to replace the depth and authenticity of human-directed video projects. Tools can help automate several aspects of the creative workflow and increase efficiency, but there still needs to be experts who can make the best use of models and turn AI clips into high-quality, production-grade content.
This essentially means hiring professionals – from creative directors and artists to colorists and video editors – who specialize in AI video tools and can use them to quickly conceptualize what organizations want, create pre-production clips in a variety of styles (from concept to concept), and then finalize put everything together with sound and other elements to make a video/movie.
So far, finding such talent has proven a challenge, as teams struggle to integrate AI into project workflows.

To bridge this gap, the company introduced the Runway Talent Network, which enables independent creatives, artists and production companies to showcase their work with AI video tools and be discovered by potential brands, agencies and studios looking for talent to produce content for films. The platform already has dozens of members, including those enrolled in Runway's Creative Partner program, with exclusive access to the company's latest AI models and tools. Runway added that a number of these members are early adopters of video AI and pioneers of new workflows in their fields.
Production companies currently in the industry include Tool, Builders Club, Silverside, Obsidian, Zukunft, (AI)imagination and Harmony Korine digital IP-based studio EDGLRD.

Since the network has just been announced, it's safe to say that the list of members presenting AI work will only grow in the coming weeks. The runway is already installed Google form with a set of questions to get many artists and production companies on board. However, the company notes that due to high volume, it cannot respond to every submission.
Note that Runway will also launch separately job boardwhere agencies and brands hiring AI-enabled talent can invite potential candidates to apply and post job listings with their requirements. It is not yet known when it will go live.
