Twitch ends 2024 with a new batch of top streamers | StreamElements

StreamElements today released its State of Streaming: Year in Review report for Twitch in 2024. The report details the hours watched on the streaming platform in 2024, as well as details on the streamers who topped the charts this year. The chart shows that while Twitch itself looks like it will reach roughly the same number of views from 2024 to 2023, the actual streamers making the top list are mixed.

The report shows that Twitch closed January-November with 18.5 billion hours watched, and is on track for 2023 to reach 18.9 billion. Daily viewing hours remained consistently in the 52-55 million hours range for most of the year; the first quarter of the year saw the highest number of views, from 61 million (January) to 57 million (March).

In addition to the statistics on hours watched, StreamElements has published a list of the best streams of 2024, which includes several new names. Jynxzi, Caedrel, caseoh_ and Papaplatte all joined the roster for the first time. Kai Jenat continued to be the most popular streamer of the year in 2023, and he broke Twitch's all-time subscription record.

Joe Perry, CEO of StreamElements, said: "Twitch has had some great streamers over the years. There was the era of Ninjas, then the reign of xQc, and now we're in the era of KaiCenat. The driver behind the changing of the guard is platform diversification. XQc is for unique content. While using various platforms, Ninja has started multistreaming, and it's only a matter of time before KaiCenat tests the waters Whether you use platforms to discover or build a community, being where the players are is the best way to grow. Expect 2025 to be a big year for multistreaming as tools evolve and become available to a wider ecosystem of creators.

Twitch's individual numbers reflect StreamElements' report, which the company reports 2024 Summary Just Watching reported that the category grew by 9.3% year-over-year and named Kai Cenat as one of the best streamers of the year.
