Last Sunday and Monday we had our first heavy rain of the season, totaling over 2 inches. On Tuesday, there were some residual showers, but I was able to ride easily for 30 minutes. I also did a tough upper body workout that day which felt great. As part of these exercises I had a lot of physical therapy on my back and hip area, I wanted to strengthen all the stabilizing muscles so I would be less likely to develop sciatica.
Yesterday it was a nice day and I sailed lying down for 70 minutes and then upright for 50 minutes. I did 8 brisk rides standing up. This is a great way to get your heart rate up without overworking your hip muscles, which are still a little sore from my recent adventures.
