The maker of Mr. Christmas holiday decorations is recalling 44,600 wireless decorative tree light controllers for a potential fire risk.
The wireless receiver of the recalled holiday tree light controller "may overheat, creating a fire hazard," according to a recall notice published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The receiver is one of the two components that make up the light controller of the affected ornamental tree. Recalled model numbers, visible on white receivers, include 39611, 39612 and 39630.
The "fast track" recallannounced late last week, comes after 10 incidents of known receivers overheating without causing injury, the CPSC said. In one incident, a fire broke out.

CPSC's rapid recall program "helps consumers by removing potentially dangerous products from the market as quickly and efficiently as possible, and rewards businesses that act quickly," according to the agency's website.
"We are focused on them and providing you with a high quality product," Mr Christmas said in a Facebook post about the recall. "User safety is our number one priority."
Sale of two affected parts decorative tree light controller takes place between July and November this year. It is available through Walmart, Target and Cracker Barrel online and in physical stores nationwide.
Other components of the retractable light controller vary in appearance depending on the retailer.

For the Walmart and Cracker Barrel iterations, they are "shaped like green, red and white peppermint candies with a candy cane on/off lever," the CPSC notice said.
Meanwhile, Mr. The Christmas light controller at Target "is shaped like a square on/off switch box with green, red and white balls," according to the recall. They carry the "Wondershop" branding.
"Consumers should immediately stop using this product and return it to their place of purchase to receive a full refund," Mr Christmas said.
The recalled wireless decorative tree light controllers cost between $25 and $40 at retailers, according to the CPSC.

Mr. Christmas has been producing "mechanical and musical" holiday decorations since the 1930s, according to his website.
