'It's my nephew…': Passenger travels without ticket in AC Coach, brags about nephew's DRM status; The video goes viral

A video showing a passenger traveling without a ticket in an AC coach has gone viral on social media. Footage filmed inside the train captures the passenger - wearing a turban and a cap - showing his arrogance towards the ticket inspector. He says that his nephew is the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and insists that he must travel to Buxa.

The passenger is heard saying, "My nephew is a DRM. I have to go to Buxa." The video quickly went viral on social media, with many people questioning the identity of the passenger's nephew and which division has him as DRM. This DRM also concerns whether the passenger is allowed to travel without a ticket.

The date, time and location of the incident is unclear. The video has raised concerns about the safety and security of passengers, an issue railway authorities have consistently highlighted, but this incident seems to contradict their position.

RPF Post Commander, Ara, Suman Kumari confirmed that he was aware of the viral video and mentioned that he had received information about the incident. However, the exact train shown in the images has not yet been identified, and an investigation is underway.

It is important to note that traveling in an AC coach without a valid ticket can lead to up to a year in jail. Passengers who obstruct government work, travel without a ticket in an AC coach or threaten an officer on duty can face a jail term of at least 15 days without bail. This offense carries potential charges under sections 132, 138 and 139 relating to obstruction of duty.
