Fellow Reddit users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the purchase extra seat.
"You can't have two tickets to your name. One of them will be automatically canceled before your flight takes off," one person claimed.

Under the Help Center on the Southwest Airlines website, there is a page that provides information sharing for large customers.

"Customers can purchase additional seats on each flight in their itinerary," Delta's website states.
"Seats purchased at the same time will be sold at the same fare."
"Passengers who do not purchase additional seats in advance may need to change their seat assignment to another location on the aircraft that offers additional space. If the flight is full, passengers will be rebooked on a later flight with available seats," the website continues.
