Former Leeds United star David Norris says Daniel Farke is "considering other options" as people around the club begin to lose faith. Evening Meslier.
The French international had another challenge as Brad Potts opened the scoring for Preston North End in their 1-1 draw at Deepdale on Saturday. It was one of many mistakes in the first half of the 2024/25 campaign and it has put the 24-year-old's position in jeopardy.
Speaking History of MOT LeedsFormer Leeds midfielder David Norris has revealed that people around the Yorkshire club are no longer convinced of Meslier, who has been number one at Elland Road since 2019.
"I think Meslier has started to look better in recent games, but people I've spoken to who follow Leeds a lot are not so sure anymore," said the pundit.
"Farke has to think about other options now. He has been very inconsistent and has cost the team points this season. It doesn't seem like he has the confidence in Meslier that he did before."
The Liverpool star could be a replacement for Illan Meslier at Leeds
Leeds are currently second in the Championship, three points adrift of league leaders Sheffield United after 21 games. Farke's side are strong contenders for promotion and if they do, this could help the Yorkshire club to top-scoring next summer.
Liverpool star Caoimhin Kelleher would be a good choice for Leeds as the Irish international is expected to leave Anfield in 2025.
Caoimhin Kelleher has received a lot of praise this season for his performances at Liverpool
Kelleher wants to be the starting point guard and this is unlikely to happen in Liverpool due to the presence of Alisson Becker and the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer.
The Irishman has proven to be another top scorer this season and the 26-year-old could be a good choice for Farke's side should he take up the opportunity to return to England.
