Marsha Telfer and her husband, Adrian Telfer, opened Reggae Jerk Hut In the summer 2023. The restaurant from Adrian's vision of a place he wanted to open after he worked as a line to cook in the military. After his service in 2015, Adrian decided he wanted to return to hospitality and cooking. The duo looked around their hometown of McKinney, Texas, and realized that it was lacking different caribbean food destinations outside some places in staple. Marsha has an idea to mix the elements from the Haitian and Jamaican people and doing so, the couple did the first restaurant of Haitian-Jamaican in town.
“Reggae jerk hut (bearing) both our cultures serve in Jamaican and Haitian food, who came together,” he said.
In reggae jerk hut, look for deep fried conch fritters served in a creamy accumulated sauce; Oxail Birria Tacos; chicken wings coated with different sauces; Rasta Pasta, where Penne and Bell Peppers get a cream sauce with a secret fragrance of RJH; curried goats or chicken; a box of snack skack; and a macaroni and cheese skillet. “The first dish that visits the first time should order is to go around Jamaica, because it offers less than everyone,” Marsha said. “It has oxry goat, and you can choose a haitian rice to go with it.”
Marsha told Dallas food about some of his favorite DFW places to eat, from other inspired caribbean places in the areas where he cared for self-care. His sweet tooth informs some of his choices, as well as the networking he has done to other little business owners while they support each other in the industry.

This place is only open for a month, and I want to show them love. They serve in the fusion of Louisiana / soul. Daiquiris is awesome, and the food is good. It's like walking in Louisiana without leaving DFW. I tried all the daquiris.

This area has real food in Haitian; I believe this is the only Restaurant in the DFW area. They also sell goodies in Haitian. Standwork dishes here is legumes, which is a mix of vegetables and meat with cabbage, beef or oxplant, and carrots cooked with rice. I found this place because we had a Haitian community, and the business owner came to me to ask a few questions. We remain connected, and we all have to help each other.

My favorite drink has a peach d'usse frosé. I want to go here for nights at night with my husband, and I'm for brunch with my girlfriends. It is a good place to meet people who visit Dallas, especially if they stay in the city.
205 East Virginia Street at McKinney
It's a place in downtown McKinney selling boozy ice cream and sorbets. I love rum and raisins. They break raisins in the rum for a moment. This is a common place in ice cream where you can get cones or cups. I often get a cup, because if I eat the waffle cone, can be blown out of wine, and I want to feel the booziness of my ice cream.

This place is owned by the woman, which I want. (The owner Miriam Jimenez) didn't think to go out to talk to people. I feel like I'm not just a customer, but a guest. She always had a smile on her face and very personal. I want to support other women's owned businesses. Empanadas and pellets de yuca – crispy yuca fritters full of cheese in mozzarellla and served spicy ranch dresing – very good. I also like Carne Asada.

My children want to come here for a treat. They often have special specialists, and owners are better. Cookies are very good: Chocolate chip and banana pudding cookies are special favorites. There are also very good lemon bars, and brownies are the best. We stopped at the weekend of children, and sometimes I took a box at home. Children want to try new flavors for the weather. I thought the other day we had a bound cake cookie. They also love it if we get an ice cream to go to brownies.
