Like most people, I grew up on PAA eggs, glowing with chemical dyes and artificial colors. My memories are vivid: the sulfur scent of cooked eggs, the sharp blow of the vinegar in my nose, the metal egg holder like an old glasses, and mystical colored tablets. The relationship between hard -cooked eggs and the Christian religion is pretty much lost, though the symbolism of new life is true, especially on a beautiful spring day. Anyway, it doesn't matter too much – tradition, and that's enough.

Instead of a set bought in the store, my wife grew up after an Easter tradition to pack eggs in the onion skin and boil them with a long white cloth, tightly tied. Last year, while we live in Estonia, so we painted eggs, scrubs, rice pieces and any grass or leaves in the yard inside the fluffy onion. Ten minutes of boiling, and the eggs are spotted and charming.
This is a much more creative adventure than a store bought in a store: you actually have a opinion on how eggs become using any material. The excitement and surprise that the hot egg is cut out and brings the child out of us.
However, if you decide to go on a natural route, packaging eggs in onion lines is not the only way to naturally paint them. While experimenting with various foods as a coloring, I was very impressed that some easy -to -find and cheap foods worked well. Some beets, some ground turmeric and a red cabbage, I showed a magnificent egg in all three primary colors. This is how you can set yourself on a Diy Easter egg.
How to Make Natural Colors for Easter Eggs
The idea here is to treat the eggs like in painting sets: boil them at a time and then dip each egg into a colored paint to decorate.
The red and the yellow were obvious: if you had ever cut beet on a wooden cutting board, you probably still painted red like your worksheet from the last curry you made with the turmeric.
But how many food do you know that are blue? Strangely, when the red cabbage boils with water and displaces it, the resulting purple liquid is a rich, cobalt blue egg. Don't ask why, but it works.
Red paint
Take 1-2 beets (about £ 3/4 pounds) and crush it roughly. Combine 1 quarts with water, 1 tablespoon vinegar and 1 tablespoon of salt in a frying pan. Boil, then cover and cook for 30 minutes. Filter, maintaining the liquid for painting.

To paint eggs
Simply soak them in the liquids until the colors you want. At first, the colors are quite pale, though they will be beautiful.
They don't work just as well: the red paint sets very quickly and the turmeric is not far away. But after two minutes, the egg in the blue paint did not change at all. You need to soak the egg for a few hours to achieve the really rich blue.
The eggs should dry out, otherwise the color may rub, so set them on a wire cooler for approx. 30 minutes.
Knowing that I have all three primary colors, I experimented with two paints on the same egg: yellow and blue to be green, red and yellow to be orange. It wasn't quite successful, though I came up with a nice fine green and a slightly brown orange.

How to Make Onions with Skin Skin, Easter Eggs
Unlike conventional egg painting, these eggs are not baked in advance before coloring. Rather, the cooking and painting process happens at the same time. You will need at least 8-10 onions for every dozen eggs. (The onion themselves should be used later than later.) Outside the onion skin, which can nicely color eggs, leaves, petals, leafy herbs, cooked rice, etc. You can put an impress on the outside of the eggs.
You will also need a dress where you can wrap the eggs. For a couple of dozen eggs, one or two cheap muslin or other white fabrics should be made. Cut the clothes into large squares, “build” your egg on top so wrapped in the shell, and then tie it with the kitchen twine or thread. Be careful to roll your own in a distinctive way so that it is easy to recognize if they all go to the pot. Boil for 10 to 12 minutes to adjust the colors and cook the egg – and that's it.
