It is really easy to create these pancakes and does not require any special ingredients, making it easier to whip them on any Saturday morning.   • 4 Tsp Cooking oil ($ 0.05 ***)

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.

  • Combine milk, eggs, melted butter, sugar and vanilla extracts in a separate bowl.

  • In a bowl of dry ingredients, add a bowl of wet ingredients and stir until combined. Do not overmix. The mixture should be thick, but still pourable and slightly lid. If it is not infusion, add additional spoon or two milk until thick. Let the flour rest 15 minutes.

  • Heat a large skate or gridel on the medium. Once heated, add enough cooking oil to coat the surface (I use about ½ tsp per pancake per pancake). Add the flour to the hot grid, a cup at a time. Use the measurement cup to spread the flour in a circle 4.5 inches in diameter.

  • Cook the bubbles until the bubbles are ready and start to pop, the edges look dry and the bottom is golden brown (about 60 seconds). Flip them and cook on the other side until the golden brown (about 5 seconds).

  • Repeat the rest of the flour, add more oil to the skillet during the batch or as needed, until all the pancakes are cooked. Keep all the remaining flour on the plate under the towel or in a warm oven without cooking. Serve warm with your favorite toppings!

The baking powder has the main yeast agent in this recipe, but how well the baking powder works will affect other components and techniques. Here are some of my favorite tips to make sure your pancakes are extra soft and fluffy:

  1. Make sure your baking powder is fresh. Check the expiration date or take a quick test to make sure it is still active. Mix two tablespoons baking powder in one cup of hot water. Baking powder is still active if it is fade.
  2. Do not stear too much in the flour. Stir until the flour is crossed and some lid balance. The flour will develop gluten in the flour and make pancakes rubber instead of soft and fluffy.
  3. Rest for 15 minutes after mixing the flour. This allows the flour to fully hydrate, lets the remaining lid become soft without stirring and starts activating the baking powder, creating light, ventilation flour.
  4. The flour should be thick but still pourable. If the flour is more flowing, your pancakes will be thin. If the flour is too thick, they can be slightly dry. So, to get the right consistency, you may need to adjust the amount of milk in the flour.

How to freeze pancakes

This recipe is great for cooking and freezing batch! If you want to make a lot at the same time and then freeze some for quick breakfast, this is easy. Just let the cooked pancakes cool completely, then place them in a single layer on a parchment-baking sheet with parchment paper between the layers to prevent them from sticking. Once frozen, transfer the freezer to the bag and store for three months. Heat them in the microwave until heated.
