Why is it working
- The classic proportion of Blanco Tequila is Contreau (Triple SEC) and Lime Juice the perfect drink.
- The alternative ratio for the lower shelf tequila, added with a simple syrup to balance, ensures that even cheap booze has a good taste.
- Disconnecting Chiles quickly and easily subtracts its spicy heat.
Quality spirits are not intended to be hard, but even with the best booze, there is a breathtaking alcohol burn that can be deeply enjoyable. In more than more examples, cocktail fans have realized that adding the burning heat of the chiles to the already strong spirit is a match that has been built Whooooooo-boy! sky.
THE margaritaFor example, it is a perfect drink with a stiffening lime retaining with the notes of the Contreau aromatic sweetness and the good Blanco Tequila Agave. Add disturbing chiles, such as Jalapeño to the mixture, and their grassy taste and pronounced heat pushed the drink in a bold direction. Perhaps not better – difficult to improve perfection – but just as good and welcome.
There are several ways to make spicy marks, including time-consuming methods, such as tequila infusion. But you throw the chiles directly into a cocktail shake before building, trembling and pouring the drink, indisputably the best way for most home ink – it's fast, easy and very customizable. You can dial (and experiment with different types of Chiles) at the heat level on the basis of a drink-quit.
This recipe insists on the classic margarita rates, first the Chiles disturbance. Some tips will help you bring the best version into the glass.
Dialing in the heat
The big question of the spicy marg: how spicy should it be? This is what you have to decide for yourself. It does not help the Jalapeños be inconsistent at their heat level, so you may need to change it depending on specific Chiles.

If you want more heatTry any of the following (or each) of the following:
- Use the whole chileSeeds, white pith and everything. Seeds and white pitch give most of the Chilean heat, so their involvement increases the effect.
- Let the confused chiles sit in tequila For a few more minutes before making the remainder of the drink and shaking it with ice. This gives a little extra time for the Chiles spice -causing capsaicin to inflate to alcohol, increasing the effect.
- Use more chils. If you are on a mild side of the Jalapeños, you only have to get a little more into every drink.
- Try another chile. Serranos is a natural stand for Jalapeños and usually pack more heat. But feel free to enter this. Thai Green Chiles will result in a sharper kick, while mature habaneros brings not only heat but also a sweet, fruity edge.
Of course, if you want less heatDo the opposite of the above.
Approach the rim
Margarites usually come with the salt -covered glass, and it also works in a spicy marg. But the recipe below (and the photos here) shows a tajin rim that plays the chiles in the drink while still delivering the necessary salt. Do whatever you want or play with other ground chile salt ideas – there are many places for a small pinch that adds extra taste and personality to your glass.
