All-Clad is hard to beat in the realm of stainless steel pots and pans. Sure, the prices are high, but this is a BIFL brand (buy it for life). I can't tell you how many things I've boiled, thawed, steamed, and accidentally burned in this saucepan over the years, and it still looks shiny in the mirror after rinsing. This is thanks, in part, to the durable 18/10 stainless steel (translation: stronger steel with better shine) material, as well as the fact that the inner layer of aluminum allows the stainless steel to heat quickly and evenly. Other pans may attract lower price tags, but an All-Clad pan wins with consistency.
